Vellichor began in a 3rd grade classroom, where Meghan Schroeder watched students fall in love with stories-and with the people they could become through them. Day after day, books carried her students through laughter, heartbreak, bravery, and hope, all while building empathy, confidence, and their voices as readers, writers, and thinkers. Through these experiences, her little dream of owning a bookstore began to take shape. She wanted to create a place where neighbors in her town could come gather around stories, meet new faces and fall more in love with reading along the way.

As a lifelong reader, Cori is passionate about the power of books to educate, inspire, and bring people together, and her family always visits a local bookstore on every vacation. After moving to Aledo, she recognized the need for a thoughtfully curated independent bookstore that also served as a gathering place. As a mom and local book club member, she sees a strong demand for a bookstore in Aledo. Her vision for Aledo is to have a welcoming space that encourages discovery, fosters connection, and inspires a lifelong love of reading for all ages.
